An Apple A Day…

Alright…a million times over just STOP IT!

Why on earth has it never crossed my mind – not even once – to make white chocolate, or milk chocolate, covered apples?  Even more importantly, why hasn’t someone asked me why I haven’t?

Poking sticks in apples, melting chocolate in a bowl, dipping and decorating shouldn’t take Master Level Dessert Maker skills and seems like it might be right up my alley.

Seriously ladies, these would be so cute to give as teacher gifts, neighbor gifts or anyone gifts for Valentine’s Day.  Depending on your apple choice, these might be some of the most inexpensive gifts you will ever make.  The best part…you could use this idea over and over again for every holiday with different toppings.

First up, buy the apples.  My kids are total apple snobs and Honey Crisps are about the only apples that they will eat.  No need to waste taste on the others so straight to the Honey Crisps it is.

Next, you will need cookie or Popsicle sticks.  Choose ones that will be sturdy enough to support the size of apple that you like. Push the stick gently into the apple.

Use either white almond bark or white candy coating, grab a microwavable bowl and get to melting. Be careful not to OVER HEAT it though.  Read the direction!

STIR!!!

Dip your pre-stuck apple into the candy coating and spread evenly. PRO TIP – tilting the bowl while turning the apple helped me get a more even coating.  When I didn’t tip the bowl it was just a hot mess…oh…that was just me.

DECORATE! DECORATE! DECORATE!  Add toppings, sprinkles, colors, crushed cookies or anything you like and ENJOY!!!

Trust me! These are easy peasy and light on the purse.

Bonus points: your kids will think you are a genius!

Happy Valentine’s Eve Friends!
